Tot Shabbat Families Potluck & Play Invitation:
Celebrate Shabbat with other parents of young children
with a community vegetarian/dairy potluck meal and
playtime. Friday, February 3 from 5:30-7pm, Vegetarian
Potluck and Play in the Temple Emanuel Social Hall.
Families can opt to stay for early service that begins
at 7pm, and ends at 8pm.
Tu B’Shevat Seder in Rhinebeck, Saturday, February 4
beginning at 5:30pm. Click

to bring. Celebrate the Festival of Trees with
your fellow mystics at Temple Emanuel. We will
hold a desert seder at 5:30pm, sharing song, fruits &
nuts of the earth, and a creative children’s plant pot
activity at 6:30pm, followed by coffee, tea and
schmoozing at 7pm.

Our choir, the Zemer Singers, are
kicking it up a notch! Zemer weekly rehearsals on Thursdays
at 7pm here at Temple Emanuel. Interested parties can
email Lauren Rose or Cantor Bob Cohen, or can just show
up on any Thursday evening. All
are welcome, including kids. The Zemer will be preparing
for a spring concert, in addition to singing on the
Fourth Friday of the month service and other events.
Travel to Israel with Temple
Emanuel in April of 2012! We will fly out of
NY to Israel on Saturday, April 14, and return to NY on
Friday, April 27, 2012. We have
an
updated tentative itinerary, viewable here, please check
back as we will be updating when we have the final
itinerary ready.

Singers needed for the Zemer Choir & Zemer Band members
needed! Our wonderful Zemer Singers enliven our
fourth Friday of the month Shabbat services and welcome
you to join them. To join the Zemer Chori, no previous
musical experience or note reading needed, just bring
your voice, spirit and joy. Our lively Zemer Band
accompanies our monthly Musical Shabbat held the third
Friday of every month and invites all who can play an
instrument to join. For more information about either of

Lunch with the Rabbi
The next Lunch with the Rabbi will
be in the fall, meeting at noon
This is an opportunity to share a hot meal, warm
adult community and dialogue with Rabbi Romer and stimulating adult
learning at each meeting.
Beginning

when Religious School is in session.
Book Club –
Our Book Club meets one Tuesday a month at 1pm,
at different members’ homes, contact the office for location
information for each meeting.

Monthly Community Israeli Dancing:
Mark your calendars for
the second Friday of every month for this new program at
Temple Emanuel. Forging a new tradition of
monthly Israeli dance following services we will be led
by a professional Israeli dance teacher or lay led
teachers. Please check our weekly
emails or here for future scheduling.

Kabbalat
Shabbat service begins at 7:30pm weekly
at Temple Emanuel. Every first Friday of the month is early Kabbalat
Shabbat service at 7pm.
MahJongg players

group meeting at Temple Emanuel every Monday morning at

Religious
School & Lay-Led Adult Education held most Sundays
during the secular school year from
9:00am to 1:30pm.
Saturday Morning Services
are 10am every Saturday, from the first Saturday after Labor
Day in September through June.
Sisterhood
meets the third Monday of every month at
6:30pm, nonmembers are welcome.
Rhinebeck
Meditative Prayer & Torah Study with Rabbi Yael
Romer every Thursday morning, October through June (September
dates: 9/8/11, 9/15/11 & 9/22/11, no sessions on 10/6 &
10/13). Meditation/Prayer beginning at 8:45am followed at
9:15am with Weekly Torah Study. Welcome your day with a
Morning Ritual that prepares you to receive the day’s
blessings with fullness, center & breath. Exploring our
Jewish Traditions, this morning ritual will integrate
Meditation, Prayer & Study as part of an alternative morning
Practice. For

your shoes and get down on the floor for...
"SPA" (Stretch/
Pilates/Abs) Weekly
Beginner classes every Tuesday at 10:30am and Intermediate
Classes at noon. "Have A Ball" (balls provided) all
fitness levels on Thursdays at 12pm, with no class on the
second Thursday of every month.
Introductory Fee: $10 p/p per class, discounted packages
available. Classes open to women & men, wear comfortable
athletic clothing & bring a small towel, yoga mat & a block
(if needed).

Tot Shabbat, our toddler service, is celebrated monthly on scheduled Saturday
mornings from 9:00-9:30 & is followed by a Kiddush of juice

Young at Heart
