Biography of Rabbi Yael Romer: Born and raised in New York State, she received her BA from Brandeis University in 1982, earned a Masters of Hebrew Literature from HUC-JIR & NYU in 1986 and was ordained at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 1988. Rabbi Romer has served congregations in New Jersey, New Hampshire, Ontario and Israel. Passionate about creating an integrated Jewish experience where spirituality, community, ethical living & social justice, a commitment to Jewish Learning and a love for Israel are celebrated, she is proud of the community that we are creating here at Temple Emanuel. Maintaining her dual citizenship and identity, Rabbi Romer was the third practicing female Pulpit Rabbi in Israel where she lived and served in the Galilee and where three of her five children were born. Rabbi Romer presently resides in Rhinebeck, NY with her family. |
