Temple Emanuel's prestigious Religious School, part of Temple Emanuel's educational offerings, is a comprehensive program for grades Pre-K through 12, including B'Nai Mitzvah Classes & Confirmation classes. The Religious School (which includes the B'nai Mitzvah & Confirmation Classes), and Preschool follow the Kingston City School District Schedule for closings and delays.

The Religious School Program is held throughout the secular school year on most Sundays from 9am to 1:30pm, with additional classes held on scheduled Wednesday evenings for our B'nai Mitzvah & Confirmation Classes.

First Day of Religious School: Sunday, September 18.  If you have not already sent in your child’s registration form, please do so right away.  Thank you!

Registration is open for the 2011 fall semester, click here to view & download the Registration Form.

Plan on sending your child or children to a Jewish summer camp, but need some financial assistance?  Click here to view and print the Neal Satinsky Summer Camp Scholarship application.  Applications are due by February 10th, 2012.

Religious education at Temple Emanuel works in partnership with the home to foster a commitment to Judaism and Israel. We provide the foundation for our students to pursue a lifelong study of Torah, Shabbat and festivals, symbols, ethics, traditions and history. Through a variety of formal and informal educational experiences, students have the opportunity to develop a personal connection with God, a sense of the beauty of Judaism and the expanse of Jewish thought.. Understanding Reform Judaism, its traditions and values empowers students to make informed choices as members of the Jewish community and the greater community of which we are all a part.

Our school endeavors to inspire our children and families to see their world through Jewish eyes.

To accomplish this, we teach:
Knowledge of our history, language, holidays and traditions
Jewish skills to cope with modern issues
Responsibility for ethical behavior by pursuing righteousness, justice and loving deeds
Commitment to Reform Jewish practice/mitzvoth
Love of Judaism, our people, and the Land of Israel

We encourage our families:
To be aware of and involved in their children’s Jewish education
To celebrate Judaism in their home
To participate in their synagogue community
To use our clergy and school staff as their personal Jewish resources

Our school provides an atmosphere that fosters mutual respect among students and staff, eagerly welcomes family participation, and nurtures each student’s individual Jewish growth and identity.
